Horizon Savannah Bush Camp

Horizon Savannah is located inside the gates of the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve a mere 104 km from OR Tambo International Airport. Situated on a 65-hectare conservancy hosting only plains game makes Horizon Savannah safe for walking, cycling and running. It also offers easy access to the Wilderness Way self-drive route in the Big 5 area giving guests the best of both worlds.

Accommodation

Accommodation consists of 2X bespoke high-end standalone self-catering chalets, 2X Safari Suites and a tented camp with 2 x Permanent Safari Tents

  • The chalets feature sleeper wood furniture and original wildlife paintings, can accommodate 2 or 4 guests and have sliding doors opening to covered patios with outdoor dining area, and braai facilities. There are also a lapa fire pit areas with seating.

  • The 2 Sleeper: This chalet contains 1 bedroom with a queen-size bed, 1 bathroom with a shower, and an open-plan well-equipped kitchen and living area. Sliding doors open to a covered patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. There is also a boma fire pit with seating.

  • The 4 Sleeper: This chalet contains 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 1 bathroom with a shower, and an open-plan kitchen and living area with 2 single beds. Sliding doors open to a covered patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. There is also a boma firepit with seating.

The Two And Four Sleeper Safari Suites

  • A cross between a chalet and a touch of a camp feel with drop down canvas windows that allow a good view and air flow.

  • The Suites are fully equipped with linen, towels, cutlery and crockery.

  • The kitchenette as a tabletop gas stove, microwave oven and fridge/freezer.

Our Tented Camp

Perfect place for your next camping adventure.

  • This camp sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids and has an open-plan kitchen and living area. You can prepare your meals and then eat around the fire pit. It’s just what you need to enjoy the great outdoors without having to worry about cooking in a small space. The Camp is self-catering, so there’s no need for you to bring your own cutlery or tents. It’s all set up—just load up your car, drive out into nature, and enjoy!

  • On-site facilities include a swimming pool, secure parking, and a braai area.

  • Due to the fact that this camp is in a fully fenced conservancy with only plains game ( Kudu, zebra, impala, nyala, blesbok and smaller mammals, there are no dangerous predators).

  • There are dirt roads throughout the property and walking and cycling is permitted.

  • Our super clear starlight nights are just amazing. 

  • The No noise policy, especially after 20h00 gives our guest the privilege to enjoy the wonderful night fall noises of jackals, bush babies, small cat families etc.

  • Arlington craft brewery as well as other restaurants. We are also situated 26km from Camp Discovery.

  • Organized game drives, as well as self-drive routes are also easily accessible in the Big 5 reserve nearby.
