LOCATION:

Spitskop Game Farm is located approximately 1 hour 48 minutes from Menlyn/Pretoria, (165 km) and 2 hours from Sandton/ Johannesburg (137 km).

The farm is on the R52, between Rustenburg and Koster.
With the Selons River running through the farm, wildlife including Zebra, Kudu, Impala, Blue Wildebeest and Eland to be seen. The bird life is abundant and beautiful.

Bring your binoculars and bird lists/ books.Waking up to the sounds of the African Bush and having your first “cuppa” while overlooking the magnificent panoramic views nature has to offer.

ACCOMMODATION

  • Visitors and hikers will be accommodated in style and luxury in our permanent Safari Tent Camps. (“Glamping”)

  • There are 4 different camps: Main Bush Camp, Fish Eagle, Gecko and Marula Camp.

  • Minimum of 2 night bookings only, no one night bookings.

  • All camps have bedding/ linen and towels included.

THE MAIN BUSH CAMP:

  • Sleep 14 – Minimum of 10 self catering.

  • Tent 1: Sleeps 4 (Double bed + 2 bunker beds)

  • Tent 2: Sleeps 4 (2 Single beds + 2 bunker beds)

  • Tent 3: Sleeps 4 (2 Single beds + 2 bunker beds)

  • Tent 4: Sleeps 2 (Single beds)

  • Fully equipped kitchen.

  • 2 x Unisex bathrooms (shower, basin & toilet)

  • Rock shower with a breathtaking view for those who like to be adventurous

FISH EAGLE CAMP:

  • Sleep 8 – Minimum 6; self catering.

  • Fish Eagle Luxury Safari Tent consists of 2 rooms and a deck area with a breathtaking view.

  • Room 1:  Double bed; Room 2:  6 x Single (Bunker beds)

  • Open air rock shower, basin & toilet.

  • Amenities: Limited kitchen (2 plate gas stove / fridge / basin / cutlery / crockery)

  • Fire place / Braai area

GECKO CAMP

  • Sleeps 6 Minimum 4;

  • Gecko Camp consist of three tents and a deck area with a breathtaking view

  • Tent 1:  2 single beds

  • Tent 2:  2 single beds

  • Tent 3:  2 single beds

  • Kitchen (2 plate gas stove / fridge / basin / cutlery / crockery / braai grid / black pot (potjiekos))

  • Open air rock shower, basin & toilet.

  • Fire place / Braai area

MARULA CAMP

  • Sleeps 2 – 4 – Maximum

  • Marula Camp consist of two tents and a deck area with a breathtaking view

  • Tent 1:  2 single beds

  • Tent 2:  2 single beds

  • Kitchen (2 plate gas stove / fridge / basin / cutlery / crockery / braai grid / black pot (potjiekos))

  • Open air rock shower, basin & toilet

  • Fire place / Braai area

  • WOOD for sale @ R20 a bag

  • Day visitor’s facilities available – communal braai area, basin, deck, bathroom

  • Remember to bring swimming gear (river)

  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 7:00 – 15:30. We are closed on Mondays except on
    long weekends when the holiday falls on a Monday.

2026 Rates:

  • R520.00 per adult and R260.00 per night.

  • Minimum 2 nights on weekends.

  • R250.00 per 4 x 4 Vehicle doing the trails.

  • Day visitors: R170.00 per person (all ages).

OUR HIKING TRAILS:

Walking the trails, sharing the “house” of the animal kingdom with them, dipping your toes or
taking a splash in the cool river water will treat your sole.

Taking a moment to be quiet, but focused, you may bump into some of our four legged and feathered friends. Prepare yourself for a time filled with beautiful moments and creating memories with family and friends.

  • All our trails are clearly marked and easy to follow.

  • All the trails start and finish from the main camp.

  • All our trails are also ideal for the more fit trail runners and can be combined with
    mountain bike and 4 x 4 trails.

KING FISHER TRAIL

  • Distance: 1,3 km Duration: 1 hour; Highest point: 1 443 m

  • Elevation gain: 95 m / Elevation loss: 95 m

  • Rating: Easy to Moderate

ALOE WONDER TRAIL

  • Distance: 4,5 km Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours; Highest point: 1 443 m

  • Elevation gain: 186 m / Elevation loss: 186 m

  • Rating: Moderate

RED ROCKS TRAIL

  • Distance: 13 km Duration: 3.5 to 5 hours; Highest point: 1 443 m

  • Elevation gain: 480 m / Elevation loss: 480 m

  • Rating: Moderate to Difficult

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

  • Mountain bike trails – bring your own bikes and safety gear. There are lots of challenging
    dirt roads and all the hiking trails can also be done with mountain bikes.

  • 4×4 Trails – Only for high ground clearance and experienced 4 x 4 enthusiasts. It is NOT
    suitable for 2 x 4 or SUV’s.

  • Game Viewing – on foot, mountain bike or your own 4×4.

  • River swimming – bring your tubes and own swimming gear.

  • This is a truly tranquil setting, where you can find yourself again after the hustle and bustle of the busy big city days. Come and relax and recuperate.

    BUT if you are more of a adrenaline junky, we have enough to get your heart rate up and your oxygen levels “stretch” to your maximum.
